![]() All nuts (and seeds) are great sources of fibre, good fats, protein, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. They have their own unique, nutritional qualities to offer. This is why it is always a good idea to have variety :) Almonds – calcium, vitamin E Brazil Nuts – selenium (good mood mineral, calming) Hazelnuts – folate, copper (key component for forming antioxidants and red blood cell synthesis), Biotin (healthy skin and hair) Pecans – Vitamin E, phytochemicals that lower LDL cholesterol Pistachio – Potassium, liver protection Walnuts – Omega 3, serotonin (happy hormone!!) Sunflower seeds – folic acid, B6, B3 (enhances GABA activity in brain which reduces anxiety) Pumpkin seeds – zinc, tryptophan (precursor to serotonin), gluatamate with is required to synthesize GABA (anti-anxiety) Keep them all in the fridge and grab a handful with a piece of fruit, sprinkle them in your oatmeal or on your salad!!
